I love Colaba. There is a certain charm about it that no Hill Road/Pheonix Mill/Inorbit can replace. Maybe its the old world charm with the quaint old buildings , double decker buses sweeping by and the numerous mirrored Indian handicrafts waiting to be bought by tourists.
Causeway has a myraid of stores ranging from dirt cheap to expensive. The stretch includes sports shops such as Nike and Adidas , Jewellery stores such as Curio Cottage , Sangam and Aquamarine as well as affordable clothes such as Cottonworld, Cotton Colour , PAX and Kalapi.
Three roadside stalls are famous for their export surplus clothes. One can find brands such as Topshop Zara and H&M.
I have spent many hours roaming Causeway since it was close proximity to my school. From ice creams at Mc Donalds and later graduating to Beer at Cafe Mondegar (pictured above) I have possibly found everything I need for a fashionista's wardrobe. From attractive kolhapuri chappals, a cheap sundress, numerous tee shirts, Expensive silver earrings, 20 rupees hoop earrings to ethnic Indian lipstick cases.
If I ever have to leave Bombay I will sorely miss Colaba nothing can replace it . Not Oxford street or 5th Avenue or Champs Elysees.
